The Design Team

Joy and Charlene share a passion for flowers which is displayed in the uniqueness and creativity of their designs. From their studios in Portola Valley and Grass Valley, their compositions are developed with sensitivity and exuberance. When you enlist Miss Scarlett’s Flowers, you bring in a team that has a combined design experience of over 20 years.  Joy and Charlene are volunteer house floral arrangers at the Filoli Mansion in Woodside.  Joy also volunteers her time and talent to arrange for Menlo Park Presbyterian Church and arranges weekly for Parkside Grille in Portola Valley.  Charlene’s background in fine art and her experience in design, adds a valued dimension to the team’s creativity.  Miss Scarlett’s Flowers has exhibited  four years in a row at Bouquets to Art at the deYoung Museum in San Francisco.  Both women demonstrate their skills at numerous clubs and organizations.  For the ninth consecutive year they will exhibit at the Filoli Flower Show.  Under the tutelage of  the internationally known Anne Patrick, of Constance Spry, London, they have successfully completed and graduated from the floral design program.  Joy is pursuing accreditation through the AIFD.  The team bestow great importance on the latest designs and current techniques and trends, yet retain an eye and appreciation for classic.
